On January 8, 2020 the foundation was legally registered by a notary in Bali. Before this, we had been working as the representative office of Dare This Cooperative with headquarter in the Netherlands. We began our work as local non-profit organisation with a board meeting on 24 February 2020 and with administrative work to obtain district and provincial operational permits.
In 2020 we completed the VOICE funded project (2017-2020) SIPAKATAU on the empowerment of young people affected by leprosy in Gowa, South Sulawesi. We ran a 3 month project funded by the Sasakwa Health Foundation (SHF) to support people affected by leprosy amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and another 3 month project with the help of VOICE to spread correct information about Covid -19 for people affected by leprosy in remote areas. Through a crowdfunding effort, we were able to build a new home for Dg Lepu, an old man affected by leprosy in Jeneponto District who lived in an isolated shack on the outskirts of his village. We started a new 1 year Covid support project in November 2020 funded by SHF and in December 2020 with the support of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) a 1 year project to develop a youth cooperative for young people affected by leprosy.
