Our five young scholars from the Sasakawa Young Scholar Initiative will finalise their small projects this October.
Some projects were already completed last month:
- Arfah has established a vegetable garden together with the residents of the Jongaya Safe House, and the vegetables are now growing!
- Iyan has prepared and submitted a portfolio of photographs of persons affected by leprosy to an international contest. Through visual storytelling, the photographs share their stories and highlight their strength.
- Roni has successfully established working relations with social workers at the Office for Social Affairs in Bantaeng to raise their awareness of leprosy.
Meanwhile, Egi is busy producing podcast episodes featuring senior persons affected by leprosy to preserve their memories and experiences. He will finalise his project this October.
Sarmila is busy preparing a fundraising event for PerMaTa Maros, which will also take place in October!
Good luck, and have fun as you continue to bring these great ideas to life—and thank you, SHF, for making this possible!
