Our five young scholars from the Sasakawa Young Scholar Initiative have done a great job designing their own small projects, and now they are ready to put them into action. Arfah will create a vegetable garden together with the residents of the Jongaya Safe House; Iyan is preparing a portfolio of photographs of persons affected, telling their stories and promoting their strength through visual storytelling, while also entering an international young photographer contest; Roni is building collaboration with the Office for Social Affairs and PerMaTa in Bantaeng to expand networks of support; Sarmila is focusing on training her team in reaction support; and Egi is producing podcast sessions to give persons affected a voice and a platform to share their experiences.
These are all great ideas and plans! Good luck and have fun as you bring them to life—and thank you, SHF, for making this possible!
